Walnut Tree East Farleigh Maidstone

Welcome to The Walnut Tree, East Farleigh

A traditional country pub in the garden of England

Built in 1528, The Walnut Tree is a traditional pub in the beautiful village of East Farleigh, just two miles from the historic county town of Maidstone. We've won many awards and we're proud to say that we've been mentioned in both The Good Pub Guide and The Good Beer Guide.

Inside, you'll find a recently-refurbished bar which retains many original features including a number of oak beams and a large inglenook fireplace. We serve delicious pub food and an excellent selection of ales and lagers from Britain's oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame. We also have a great selection of ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks.

Outside, there's a beautifully-kept garden with a separate children's play area, and plenty of seating so that you can enjoy a quiet drink in the sun. The garden is also home to the huge walnut tree after which the pub is named. The tree still thrives and its crop is used as a bar snack and pickled for use in the restaurant.

The pub is said to be haunted by the genial ghosts of hop-pickers who were regulars in the heyday of Kentish hop farming.
